Baccarat Objective The objective of the game is to predict which of the two hands (Banker or Player) that are about to be dealt will be closer to having a value of 9. In Baccarat the player competes against the banker. Wagers are placed in the Tie, Banker and Player areas shown on the table. Cards are dealt from a deck of cards called a shoe. Traditionally, the shoe contains anywhere from six to eight standard 52-card deck without jokers. This version of Baccarat is played using eight 52-card decks.
